Tietoa
Industrial 3D printing has evolved into a strategic enabler for innovation, agility, and resilience - particularly in industries such as defense and the energy sector. In defense, additive manufacturing (AM) enhances mission readiness by supporting secure, decentralized production and improving spare-parts availability. It also accelerates rapid prototyping and the development of advanced equipment such as the new generation of suppressors.
In the energy sector, avoiding downtime is critical due to its extremely high costs. Today this is managed through large spare-parts inventories, but additive manufacturing can dramatically reduce these inventory demands while also solving challenges related to obsolescent components. Looking ahead, digital part warehouses will enable on-demand production and help build more resilient supply chains.
This session will explore why 3D printing is vital for future-ready strategies in these industries and how strategic alliances with FAME facilitate the transformative potential of AM in Finland.
